About the event
Well-researched writing, the product of hours upon hours of painstaking effort, appears to us as effortless within the covers of a bound book. The jargony reports, grainy photographs, and labyrinthine archives made digestible and smooth. The long and winding thread of an obsession perfectly woven into the tapestry of story.
In our June Third Thursday conversation, we’ll peel back the curtain and hear about the careful and thorough research behind three recent books. We’ll be joined by Isa Arsén, author of the historical novel The Unbecoming of Margaret Wolf; Eiren Caffall, author of the post-apocalyptic novel All the Water in the World; and Alejandra Oliva, author of the investigative and lyrical memoir Rivermouth: A Chronicle of Language, Faith and Migration, to learn how they succeeded in writing engaging, moving, and well-researched stories. Join us to discover tips and strategies for your own current and future works-in-progress.
